Create Anyway Book Review

Create Anyway Book Review

Title: Create Anyway: The Joy of Pursuing Creativity in the Margins of Motherhood Author: Ashlee Gadd Length: 251 pages This book is equal parts beautiful, inspiring, and motivating. It was like a balm for my soul that I didn't realize I needed.  First, it's beautiful. It feels more like you're reading lots of blog posts rather than a book. Blog essays are @ashleegadd's bread and butter (or coffee and crumbs, if you will) and I love that the book is laid out like this. The photography, book mark, and page layouts are so aesthetically pleasing that opening Create Anyways just makes you happy....

Title: Full: Food, Jesus, and the Battle for SatisfactionAuthor: Asheritah CiuciuLength: 255 pagesThis is a vulnerable review for me to write. I'd love to pretend that seeking satisfaction and comfort by overindulging in food isn't a struggle of mine. The truth is I've always struggled with emotional eating and going to food for comfort. And it's actually good news that you aren't enough because God...

Mama Bear Apologetics: Guide to Sexuality Book Review

Title: Mama Bear Apologetics: Guide to Sexuality Author: Hillary Morgan Ferrer with Amy Davison Pages: 266 If I could make this review one sentence long it would be "It's a necessary book and you should just go read it."  The content of this book is so important for Christian parents. I don't care if your kids are homeschooled, go to public school, private school, whatever. I'm sure they either are or will soon be facing the topics covered in this book. If you're like me, knowing how to navigate them as a parent feels confusing and complicated. It sure feels...

Jesus Through the Eyes of Women Book Review

Jesus Through the Eyes of Women Book Review

Title: Jesus Through the Eyes of WomenAuthor: Rebecca McLaughlinPages: 180"Christianity is oppressive to women." It's a sentence I've heard and read many times. We live in a culture that is immersed in third wave feminism. As someone who was raised in a Christian home, it's hard for me to imagine the worldview with which the secular world looks at Jesus and the Bible. I want to disagree with them but I haven’t always been very articulate explaining my side.Enter Jesus Through the Eyes of Women. This book takes an important look at how the women who lived during Jesus' life...
